Nurture-U termly catch-up - April 2025

Fifteen student advisors attended the 2025 Spring term catch up, held on Teams and facilitated by Jemima.

Jemima gave an overview of what's happening in each part of Nurture-U. Please click the link for a PDF of the slides - if you didn't attend and have any questions please do contact us!

Unbelievably, we only have one year left of Nurture-U! As we're starting to generate our findings from our different projects, we need to know what to do with what we find. So, to make a start on this, we then had two idea generation sessions. The first was using a Mural to think about how Nurture-U should disseminate their findings to students. Here is an image of student advisor ideas:

We then talked about potential future research ideas. Jemima put some ideas forward (you can see them in the slides) and then we talked them through and advisors added them to a Padlet:

For both the dissemination and future research ideas we're only just starting our plans - so will definitely have more meetings about this over the summer.

Next steps:

  • Nurture-U team and supporting student advisors continuing analysis, results will be presented when we have them ready.

  • Jemima to hold further meetings planning a potential conference and other ways to share our findings.

  • Ditto with future research plans!

Thanks so much to those who attended and to you for reading this summary! If you have any ideas or thoughts about anything that is covered here please do get in touch: nurture-u@exeter.ac.uk

I like how these kinds of meetings create a space where student voices aren’t just collected but actually discussed in a more open and ongoing way, which feels important for building trust and making improvements that actually matter in day-to-day university life. It also made me think about how students often juggle a lot at once, from participating in groups like this to managing coursework and general responsibilities, sometimes even while casually looking up things like Who Invented Homework? A Complete Guide just out of curiosity about where familiar…
